Online furniture design brand MADE.COM is to open its latest showroom in Liverpool.

The new 4000 sq ft store will be in the city’s Metquarter shopping centre and will open in mid-September.

MADE.COM has flagship showrooms in London’s Soho and Leeds and will serve the North West from its Liverpool site.

Its model is based on stripping out middlemen, such as agents, importers and vast warehouses, to connect the customer directly with the makers. It sells online only.

Established in 2010 it releases two new collections a week and commissions factories to meet its orders.

Every seven days its groups its online orders which are then placed directly with the manufacturer for mass production.

Annabel Kilner, head of UK, MADE.COM, said: “As an online-only company, where we can bring our brand to life and enable customers to see the quality of our product, with limited additional costs, we will.

“The new site allows us to do this – it’s a cost-effective partnership with the centre, meaning there are no big high street costs, but we’re alongside great brands such as Hugo Boss and Jo Malone.”
