A STILL-WEAK but relatively stable outlook for factory activity in China could ease pressure on Beijing to step up targeted stimulus measures, even as it is likely to disappoint those looking for signs of a strong pulse in the world’s second-largest economy.

The results from an indicator of factory output for April released today come as the Asian giant faces disappointing economic data, credit defaults and growing fears of overcapacity in the property, steel and resources sectors.

Sun City parking lot sale returns this weekend

There’s no telling what you’ll find in Sun City this weekend.

It’s the return of the spring parking lot sale, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday on Sun City Lane. Lifestyle services is expecting at least 300 tables full of residents’ old items to line the street.

“We’re really looking forward to hosting the 12th annual spring parking lot sale here in Sun City,” said lifestyle services director Jackie Bates. “It’s always exciting to stroll through the tables and see what interesting things our residents found in their homes and garages to sell.”

The sale takes over Sun City Lane and Town Square twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. Because the governing documents don’t allow residents to have their own garage sales, lifestyle services organizes these two community-wide opportunities each year so residents have a chance to clean out their attics, closets and garages and make a few extra dollars in the process.

Residents can sell just about anything except for commercial services, food and pets. Bargain hunters and yard sale junkies will find anything from furniture, clothes, golf clubs, gardening tools, tennis equipment, art and maybe even a car or a boat.

“You name it, they sell it,” said assistant lifestyle director Liza Chapman.
